NITROGEN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK

NITROGEN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK INTRODUCTION: In this article, we discuss nitrogen its important properties, and some incidents that happened in the past with people and instruments that deal with nitrogen. So, let's start: LIQUID NITROGEN INCIDENT THAT KILLED THREE TECHNICIAN OF NASA: The First space shuttle mission was named STS-1, the first orbital mission of NASA. This mission is uniquely described in this article due to the incident in which three technicians died due to inhalation of excess nitrogen of nitrogen. IMPORTANCE OF NITROGEN: Nitrogen is a crucial element in the periodic table due to many important properties. Nitrogen is a non-toxic & colorless gas that occupies 78% of the atmosphere. HISTORY OF NITROGEN: In the past, scientists had different opinions about this gas. For example, some scientists think it was brunt air because no combination occur in the presence of this element. Some believe it is very toxic and has no life because the environment fil...

Lithium: An Element which used in Hydrogen Bomb

Man working in lab with lithium
    Lithium is an extraordinary Element

Lithium was discovered by Swedish chemist Johan A. August in 1817. Named from the Greek word lithos, it means stone. It is the third-highest element in nature. Appearance is soft-sliver grey.

Lithium is the topic of today's discussion. So, let's start:

As you all know lithium is from its major application in batteries which are used in several devices. Lithium is the third lightest element known to humans.

    Lithium in the periodic table:

Lithium is present in alklia family. The Alkalia family has the special property of forming alkalis with water. Lithium has an atomic number of 3 its mass number is 6.914u and it has a very low density in the periodic table.

Lithium is the lightest metal known to man. That is why is alloy majorly used in the aerospace industry.

    Lithium mineral :

As lithium is very reactive it cannot be found in nature in its pure form. Its major minerals are "lepidolite, petalite, and spodumene".From this we humans can extract lithium.

Lithium in earth-crust and in this universe:

Lithium has been found in the earth's crust in a percentage of 0.002%. Most are found in its minerals form. In this universe, lithium has a 0.00000007% occurrence.

    Lithium isotopes:

Lithium has many isotopes but most of them are radioactive and with very small half-life. So, that is why in this article we consider only its stable isotopes. Lithium has two stable isotopes lithium-6 and lithium-7.

    Lithium in Thermonuclear Weapons:

Lithium deuteride is a compound of lithium used in thermonuclear Weapons. In hydrogen bombs, lithium deuteride is used to store deuterium and tritium which are great with each other to form helium and a lot of energy.

    Alloys of lithium with aluminum:

Lithium alloy with aluminum is very important in the field of aerospace. This alloy is very lightweight and strong. It has the following properties that make it suitable for the aerospace industry:

    1. High strength

    2. Low density

    3. High stiffness

    4. Superior damage tolerance

    4. Superior fatigue cracking resistance and weldability

    Lithium used in medicine:

Lithium carbonate is used in medicine in the treatment of bipolar disease also known as "manic depression". This occurs due to an imbalance in chemicals present in the brain.

Lithium carbonate is used in the treatment of this disease. Lithium helps to reduce feelings of mania. Lithium actually stimulates the NMDA  receptors, increasing glutamate availability in the post-synaptic neuron.

    Lithium hydride:

Hydrogen gained much importance in the fuel and energy industry because it is a green source of energy. Lithium hydride is used to store hydrogen. Because of the small size of lithium, it stores hydrogen in a much higher quantity.

    Uses and application of lithium:

The major use of lithium is in battery production. Lithium has more importance because of its characteristics.

    Uses of lithium:

    1. lithium is used in battery industries.

    2. Lithium is used in air treatment.

    3. Lithium is used in the ceramic and glass industry.

    4. Lithium is used in polymer production and casting mold flux powder

    5. Lithium is used as lubricating grease

    Conclusion:

Lithium is a unique and extraordinary element and metal that has several applications in technology. Lithium has huge potential in the future to transform our future and technological revolution.

Quantum field theory: The most beautiful theory

Quantum field theory: The most beautiful theory  Quantum field theory is a combination of quantum theory and field theory. It provides help in combining quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, and special relativity. Nature loves beauty. Like nature, science is also like a beautiful theory. The theory which gives answers to all the questions of nature. In the beginning, classical mechanics was the most beautiful theory because it could answer all phenomena of nature accurately. But as our technology improves we can deep dive into matter and energy. The logic of classical mechanics becomes unvaried and that is why we need another theory that can explain all the phenomena at the quantum level. Quantum mechanics was able to resolve all the questions of the quantum world and then now become the most beautiful theory of science. It explains many phenomena like  Quantum entanglement , quantum tunneling, and other such strange phenomena. But quantum mechanics also won't be able to ex...

HALOGEN FAMILY: THE MOST REACTIVE FAMILY OF THE PERIODIC TABLE

HALOGEN FAMILY: THE MOST REACTIVE FAMILY OF THE PERIODIC TABLE Introduction: The halogen family contains fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine. These elements are know for their reactiveness. This family contains many reactive elements known including fluorine which is one of the most reactive non-metals in the periodic table.  We are starting to talk about this family and its unique properties which blow your mind.   So, let's start: Fluorine: Fluorine is a very reactive non-metal. It is because of the fact that it has higher charged nuclei which are not shielded by electrons. That is why it attracts other element's electrons and thus forms compounds with them. Properties of fluorine: There are the following properties of fluorine: 1. Fluorine as discussed earlier is extremely electronegative which means it attracts electrons of other elements. 2. Fluorine is a highly reactive element. 3. Fluorine is very toxic and causes many disorders in the bodies of anima...

Nitrogen: Cool Element very Important for Life

Nitrogen is a very useful and abundant element in the atmosphere. About 78% of the atmosphere is composed of nitrogen elements. Nitrogen is a quite chill and cool element. Joke about Nitrogen: A scientist took a selfie while he was drinking liquid nitrogen He was quoted as saying "It was the coolest shot I ever took" Properties of nitrogen : Molecular weight: 14.01g/mol Boiling point: -195.795 degrees c Melting point: -210 degrees c Density: 1.251g/L Appearance: Colourless gas(at room temperature and pressure), Colourless liquid and solid. Isotopes of Nitrogen: Nitrogen has two stable isotopes N-14 and N-15. N-14 is the most abundant element in the atmosphere at 99.6% and N-15 is about 0.4% of this atmosphere. Each isotope has its own use for scientific and engineering purposes. Nitrogen Cycle and Nitrogen Fixation: First, all games start with atmospheric nitrogen which is composed of about 78% of the total atmosphere. But there is a problem plants and animals can't use ...
