NITROGEN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK

NITROGEN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK INTRODUCTION: In this article, we discuss nitrogen its important properties, and some incidents that happened in the past with people and instruments that deal with nitrogen. So, let's start: LIQUID NITROGEN INCIDENT THAT KILLED THREE TECHNICIAN OF NASA: The First space shuttle mission was named STS-1, the first orbital mission of NASA. This mission is uniquely described in this article due to the incident in which three technicians died due to inhalation of excess nitrogen of nitrogen. IMPORTANCE OF NITROGEN: Nitrogen is a crucial element in the periodic table due to many important properties. Nitrogen is a non-toxic & colorless gas that occupies 78% of the atmosphere. HISTORY OF NITROGEN: In the past, scientists had different opinions about this gas. For example, some scientists think it was brunt air because no combination occur in the presence of this element. Some believe it is very toxic and has no life because the environment fil...

Fluorine: An element of extreme importance

FLUORINE: AN ELEMENT OF EXTREME IMPORTANCE

You know the most reactive non-metal is "FLUORINE". But what kind of properties make them more reactive than other non-metals. You know that it is an important chemical in industries, so it can't be ignored.

Fluorine is the lightest halogen and highly toxic pale yellow diatomic gas at S.T.P.  Fluorine ranks 24th in-universe by abundance and 13th in terrestrial abundance.  Well, the universe is full of resources both in terms of energy and materials which is why most billionaires open their space exploration companies.

Well, fluorine is the most reactive non-metal in the periodic table. This reacts with every element except most stable light inert gases like helium and neon.

    Minerals of Fluorine:

    1. Fluorite

    2. Cryolite

    3. Villiaumite

    4. Topaz

    5. Phyllosilicates

    6. Fluorapatible (in phosphorites)

    7. Sellaite

    8. Bastnaesite ( also spelled bastnasite; and other flurocarbonates)

    History of fluorine:

Fluorine contains a mineral known as Fluorite or Fluorpar discovered by German physician and mineralogist Georgious Agricola in 1529. It was first isolated by "HENRI MOISSAN" in 1886 by electrolysis of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride.

    Uses and application of fluorine:

    1. Use toothpaste to prevent dental cavities.

    2. Use in nuclear power plants in the form of uranium hexafluoride.

    3. Use in semiconductor manufacture for plasma etching, MEMs fabrication, and flat panel display production.

    Fluorine in the medical industry:

Fluorine in the medical industry is extremely important it is used in medical devices and pharmaceutical products.

Let's look at some of the benefits of this element in the medical field:

    1. In diagnostic disease:

In diagnostics disease, PET ( positron emission tomography) is used which is very useful in the diagnostic of diseases like cancers, and neurological disorders. PET uses fluorine-18 isotopes is commonly used to trace disorders by PET technique.

    2. In Pharmaceutical industries:

In pharmaceutical industries medicals that contain fluorine and fluro compounds have increased very well.  From 2018 to 2022 there are many fluorine-containing medicines approved by FDA.

    Fluorine in the chemical industry:

Fluorine is an essential chemical in industries. Fluorine is used in the production of many compounds which are as follows:

    1. Fluorinated hydrocarbons:

Fluorinated hydrocarbon which is mostly used as refi regent and propellant is the product of fluorine. The most important compounds are chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs gases) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) but due to extremely dangerous for the ozone layer.

    2. Fluoride salts:

Fluoride salts, including sodium fluoride, stannous fluoride, sodium monoflurophosphate, etc., are mostly used in dental treatment and in many other cases.

    3. Teflon:

Teflon is a fluorine compound with properties like non-sticking, resistance to chemicals, and heat tolerance ability

    4. Fluorinated pharmaceuticals:

Many drugs contain fluorine in their structure such as fluoxetine etc.,

    5. Fluorinated plastic:

Fluorine is also used in plastic products like polyvinylidene fluoride which is mostly used in industries due to its chemical resistance and mechanical properties.

    Conclusion:

Fluorine is an element that is very useful in chemical industries as well in other sectors like energy in the form of uranium hexafluoride and in pharmaceutical industries.

Quantum field theory: The most beautiful theory

Quantum field theory: The most beautiful theory  Quantum field theory is a combination of quantum theory and field theory. It provides help in combining quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, and special relativity. Nature loves beauty. Like nature, science is also like a beautiful theory. The theory which gives answers to all the questions of nature. In the beginning, classical mechanics was the most beautiful theory because it could answer all phenomena of nature accurately. But as our technology improves we can deep dive into matter and energy. The logic of classical mechanics becomes unvaried and that is why we need another theory that can explain all the phenomena at the quantum level. Quantum mechanics was able to resolve all the questions of the quantum world and then now become the most beautiful theory of science. It explains many phenomena like  Quantum entanglement , quantum tunneling, and other such strange phenomena. But quantum mechanics also won't be able to ex...

Nitrogen Family: An Incredible Family in the Periodic Table

Nitrogen Family: An Incredible Family in the Periodic Table  Introduction: Well, all around us there are a lot of atoms, elements, and compounds but we can't notice them. Notice the world around us which influences you. By which we all are made and by which you feel alive. Atoms, elements, and compounds play an important role in this universe.  So, as they are so much important understanding them is very important. Here, comes chemistry which deals with the study of matter, its properties, and composition. Nitrogen Family members: Nitrogen Family members include Nitrogen, phosphorus, Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth, and Moscovium.  In this, we discuss a lot about its members and explore their hidden properties. So, let's start: Nitrogen: Well, Nitrogen is air. No, I know that air contains other elements and compounds but nitrogen is 78%. That is why I say that air is mostly are nitrogen and I right. Well, you think that if nitrogen is 78% of air then we processed air and...

Aluminium: An Element that changes the world Completely

Aluminum: An Element That Changes the World Completely Aluminium uses in aerospce industry Aluminum is a very lightweight metal. Alloy is very precise before 18 century it was more expensive than gold and silver. Its high price is due to its extraction cost from clay. In clay, it forms a very strong bond with oxygen that why it requires very high energy. Aluminum word derived from the Latin word "Alumen" which means "Bitter salt". Aluminium was discovered by Danish physicist " Hans Christian Orsted" in 1825. It has a silvery-white appearance. What is Aluminium? Aluminum is a very lightweight metal in the periodic table. It is the 13th element in the periodic table and also a very useful element. Where Aluminium mined?  Aluminum minerals include "Boehmite, Diaspore, Gibbsite, Cupalite, and steinhardtite, etc.," There are over 270 different types of aluminum minerals from which aluminum is extracted. Australia and China have huge resources for al...
