    After studying boron and its family members let's first talk about the history of chemistry. Chemistry is the start because our humans want to know everything.

    Humans want to know about stones and clays. Different stone has different properties and studying them is necessary for building and other such things.

    After this, we go into the period of Al-chemistry who want to convert other elements into gold and similar to form medicines that make them immortal.

    Because of this humans have a deep understanding of the scope of chemistry and that why treated as an important branch of science.

    After such an introduction to chemistry. Let's start our topic on boron and its family members.

    Boron family properties:

    1. The Boron family has common properties of valence electrons. They all have a valence of 3.

    2. The Boron family has a low melting and boiling point. Generally, melting and boiling points decrease down the group.

    3. The Boron family contains metalloids and metals. For example, boron, gallium, and indium are metalloids while aluminum and thallium are metals.

    Boron:

    Boron is a metalloid as discussed earlier. Boron has two isotopes boron-10 and boron-11. 

    Boron shows the following properties :

    1.  Boron is solid at room temperature.

    2. Boron is known for its hardness.

    3. Boron is chemical reactivity 

    Uses:

    1. Boron is used in many industries including glass and ceramics, detergent, and in agriculture industry.

    2. Use as flame retardants in many polymers. They help reduce the flammability of the polymer.

    3. Boron alloys with other metals are very useful in many different industries.

    Aluminium:

    Aluminum is a metal and its properties are very useful aerospace industry.

    Aluminum shows the following properties:

    1. Aluminum showed many useful properties like lightweight, ductility, and malleability which are necessary for many different types of industries.

    2. Aluminum is non-magnetic and useful in many different types of industries.

    3. Aluminum is recycled and it recycles without loss of its properties. Recycling them requires much less energy, money, and resources as compared to mining and refining them.

    Uses:

    1. Due to its alloy lightness they are typically useful in the aerospace industry.

    2. It is used in packaging, transportation, and construction industries.

    3. Used as the reflector and heat exchanger.

    Gallium:

    Gallium is a metal that is very useful in electronics. Gallium is known for its low melting point almost melts at room temperature.

    Gallium shows the following properties:

    1. Gallium shows metallic properties such as electrical conductivity, malleability, and ductility.

    2. It has low vapor pressure which makes that liquid at a wide range of temperatures.

    3. Gallium forms an alloy with other metals and its alloy has a low melting point.

    Uses:

    1. Gallium is useful in electronics because of the formation of semiconductors.

    2. Gallium and its compounds are very seen to be used in the future as a rocket propellant due to its low toxicity and environmental impact.

    3. Its alloy is useful in different applications.

    Indium:

    Indium is a very important element because of its usefulness in touch screens. It is highly non-toxic and you also see many YouTube channels in which people break this metalloid with their teeth.

    Indium shows the following properties:

    1. Indium shows metallic properties electrical conductivity, malleability, and ductility.

    2. Indium has a low melting point of about 156.6 degrees Celcius.

    3. Indium alloy with other metals and give them desirable properties.

    Uses:

    1. Indium is useful in electronics.

    2. Indium is useful in solar industries.

    3. And useful in the nuclear industry.

    Thallium:

    Thallium which is also known as "Poison of Poison".

    Properties:

    1. Thallium exhibits metallic properties like electrical conductivity, malleability, and ductility.

    2. Thallium is less reactive.

    3. Thallium has a low melting point of about 304 degrees Celsius.

    Uses:

    1. It is used as a poison in the past. And stop using this due to its higher toxicity.

    2. Use as catalysis in many chemical reactions.

    3. Use in infrared detectors.

    Nihonium:

    Nihonium is a radioactive element that is synthesized by man in laboratories. 

    Nihonium shows the following properties:

    Because of its synthesized nature, we do not know much about this element.

    Uses:

    It has no particular uses because of its short half-life.
